Meredith-Joy Petersheim
Practice Manager
I have spent twenty years in higher education, teaching at several institutions, including Clemson University and Winthrop University, while researching political economy and international institutions. I earned my BA with a dual major in International Business and Economics and International Studies, with a concentration in Italian Studies, from SUNY College at Brockport. Then I completed my MA and Ph.D. in Political Science, with a concentration in the subfields of International Relations and Comparative Politics, from the University at Buffalo. My research examines how foreign direct investment shapes regional integration, how markets influence power.
Finance had always threaded through my work, even in research. When the opportunity came to join Equitable Advisors, it felt like returning to where I had started, now with an academic perspective.
Becoming a mother changed how I see everything, and my work ethic comes from wanting to give my family the best life I can build. Financial stability is not theoretical when you are responsible for another person's future. It is making sure our children have what they need today and building something that lasts. That understanding shapes how I work with clients as Practice Manager. I handle marketing and compliance support, client engagement and service, and account management. I am helping families figure out their financial goals, so they can build stability for the people who matter most.
My goal is to live the life God intended for me. It is important during our challenges to get up and try again. That perspective helps me connect with clients who are rebuilding, redirecting, figuring out what comes next. I understand what it is like when circumstances change, and you must start over. I am here to help you build something for a stronger future.
